My Story

Lindsay W. Huddleston II is a sport psychology consultant, a PhD in Psychology doctoral candidate, and has a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Sport Psychology. Prior to his work in sports, Lindsay was a member of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm's staff as her advance staffer, law clerk and deputy director for legislative affairs. While in the Granholm Administration, Lindsay was recruited by Walmart to be their senior manager for public affairs and government relations. In this role Lindsay oversaw legislative priorities for Walmart in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. In those states, Lindsay was the head of Walmart's charitable giving with a budget of $3 million annually. Lindsay's experience as a lobbyist continued in his role of state director for Students First, an education reform organization. It was when the organization closed its doors that Lindsay returned to his first passion of sports.

Through the creation of Sport Psychology Solutions (SPS), Lindsay has worked with individual elite athletes at all levels. Lindsay has been a national speaker for the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). As an author, Lindsay wrote Unlikely Saviors: Realizing the Positive Impact Athletes Can Have on Society Through Philanthropy and The SPS Edge: A Guide to Mental Toughness in Sports & Life Post COVID-19. Through SPS, Lindsay also provides sports media services with media credentials covering Michigan State University football and Michigan State basketball, and previously, the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). Over the past several years Lindsay has traveled the country as a motivational speaker and consulted with USA Basketball Youth Development, NBA general managers, NBA athletes, Division 1 college coaches and college players on several topics to include mental toughness and mental health. Lindsay just recently presented to the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) on the topic of "NIL, The Portal and Mental Health: A Cautionary Tale". Lindsay is also qualified to train individuals, teams, and the military in the use of cognitive skills necessary to reach optimal performance. From what Lindsay refers to as the "the SPS Edge experience", individuals and teams learn to take advantage of sport psychology consulting services on the high school, collegiate, and professional sports level.
